Engadget has a story about the Google ISP service. Google, in a complete stroke of genius, is starting to solicit for the opportunity to have Google internet in your community. They are asking for residents, groups and local government for support. Google will be setting up the Google Net for 50,000 to 500,000 people.

Of course it has its critics. Most, if not all internet providers are sure to release statements chastising Google for putting its fingers in too many pies. But why not? Current internet speeds are not are mediocre at best compared to 1Gbps. Those internet providers should improve on what they have to compete. Its win/win for the rest of us.

Now this thing is not even in beta yet. Once the communities are announced, and the installation process is completed, we will see what performance will come out of it. But even at a 50% loss in speed, thats still 500 Mbps. Awesome!

I think this is something that will change the world, and Comcast and At&t will have no chance against Google, they will have to lower their rates, and will have to stop reaping off people.

We will see.

This is the best news! Comcast and ATT are the worst companies in customer service. Monopolistic and even worse than condescending!
