The opto-electronic contact lens, been developed at the University of Washington in Seattle, is a semi-transparent array including an LED embedded into a contact lens it receives 330 microwatts of power wirelessly from a nearby RF transmitter. each prototypes are currently being used to display biosensor feedback into the wearer’s eye. Anybody familiar with Jordi Laforge will know the potential of this technology. Being able to see words, charts, photographs or directions are a few potential uses. This technology is amazing and I can’t wait to own a set.
